Child Actor - Do You Love Acting?

Children are idealistic, enthusiastic and uninhibited in general. So when they dream of something, like becoming a child actor, while they are young, you can be sure that it is because they love it - all the other factors like money or prestige mean next to nothing.

To be able to succeed in the business as a child actor, you need, first and foremost, the permission of your parents.

Why Do You Need Your Parent's Permission?

When you're a child, sometimes you see things differently, which is sometimes a good thing but can also lead you to trouble. That's where parents come in - they can tell if something is not right or not good for their children. So that's why it's important to have them around especially when you're making a big decision for your life - like wanting to move to the big city to become an actor, for example.

Another thing is, no matter where you are in this world, it is a universal rule that children who work (like, working as an actor) without the permission of their parents or guardian is illegal.

You Need to Develop Your Acting Skílls

Of course, when you get to the city to audition for a certain role, you have to be prepared. Casting directors love talented children, that's why if you train up and do very well in your audition, they will love you and therefore, give you a chance to fulfill your ultimate dream.

How to Develop Your Acting Skills

1. Get acting experience. Start small, like joining school plays or entering oratorical contests in your school. This could help you improve both your facial and voice acting skills as well as facing the crowd.

2. Talk to yourself in front of the mirror everynight. Imagine different situations and react to these situations while looking at yourself in the mirror. Memorize the muscles in your faces that you need to use to show different emotions like anger, happiness, guilt, shame, jealousy, confusion and more.

3. Read some script from plays or even books and practice memorizing the lines that the characters say. To be a good actor, you have to be able to remember your lines.

Some of the best actors that we see in movies or TV today began as child actors. Most of them experienced being turned down in auditions many times but they never gave up. Remember that rejection is a part of an actor's life and if you want to succeed in this business, you have to be willing to embrace it but never let it discourage you from pursuing your dream.
